Business Maintenance (OOC)
Formation of a Business
Active Membership
- Businesses must maintain a minimum of 3 active employees.
- Leaders must monitor activity: inactive members should be warned or removed to maintain visibility and consistency.
- Leadership Accountability
- Business leaders (CEO, Owner, Manager) are responsible for organizing events, storylines, and company-related activities.
- Leaders should communicate regularly with members about schedules, plans, and business development.
- Leaders are also expected to coordinate with admins for event approval, scheduling, and collaboration.
Recruitment & Vetting
- Recruitment must be transparent: prospective members should clearly understand expectations and responsibilities.
- Leaders must screen new recruits for OOC maturity—commitment, reliability, and respect toward others.
Business Presence
- Businesses must maintain visible activity in the sim: storefronts, office spaces, marketing campaigns, networking events, or roleplay-driven operations.
- Regularly update members on business goals, projects, or ongoing partnerships.
Hosting Events (OOC Guidelines)
- Event Planning
- Leaders or event hosts must announce events in advance with clear time, location, and purpose.
- Include roleplay objectives, expected participation, and guidelines for engagement.
Inclusivity & Accessibility
- Events should be open to interested participants, including non-business players where appropriate.
- Avoid favoritism: all participants should have opportunities to contribute meaningfully.
Story-Driven Events
- Events should advance the sim’s narrative: product launches, grand openings, negotiations, competitions, or social gatherings.
- Keep outcomes plausible and allow all parties to roleplay natural reactions.
- Conflict Management During Events
- Maintain OOC communication for any in-event disputes.
- Avoid power-gaming or meta-gaming: allow consequences to unfold within RP.
Story Advancement
- Collaborative Storytelling
- Encourage cross-business collaboration for shared storylines: partnerships, rivalries, deals, and joint ventures.
- Leaders should coordinate with other business leads and NPC organizers to avoid conflicting plots.
Consistency
- Respect previously established events, relationships, and outcomes.
- Avoid rewriting history or ignoring canon events without discussion.
-
Business Leads will not be permitted to hold a lead position in any other sim at the same time. When applying for a lead position with us, we will verify this.
Explanation why:
This policy ensures that each Business Lead can remain fully dedicated and active within our community. Holding multiple leadership roles across different sims often leads to divided attention, slower responses, and inconsistent story development. By focusing their energy here, our leads help maintain the high level of engagement, reliability, and creativity that keeps our sim thriving.
Innovation & Engagement
- Leaders are encouraged to introduce fresh business-driven storylines: new markets, sponsorships, citywide promotions, or underground dealings.
- Encourage members to weave personal character goals into the larger business storyline.
Respecting Others (OOC Conduct)
- Communication
- Keep OOC and IC (in-character) interactions separate.
- Use designated channels for planning, announcements, and disputes (Discord, Group Channels, Admin Channels).
Behavioral Expectations
- No harassment, bullying, or offensive language OOC.
- Respect other groups’ events, storylines, and time commitments.
Conflict Resolution
- OOC disputes should be handled privately between leaders or with moderator support.
- Avoid escalating disagreements into public disruptions.
Recognition of Effort
- Acknowledge the creativity, time, and effort others put into roleplay.
- Encourage teamwork and positive reinforcement to maintain a healthy sim environment.
- Enforcement & Accountability
Monitoring
- Business leaders and moderators may track activity, story contributions, and event participation.
- Persistent inactivity or disruptive behavior may lead to warnings or removal from business rosters.
Consequences
- Minor OOC violations: warnings, private discussion, or temporary restrictions.
- Major OOC violations (harassment, repeated disruption): removal from the business or simulation privileges.
